The bracket that thr distributor bolts onto at the cam-end of the valve cover has snapped off pulling the didtributor away from the cam and leaked all my oil out. What is this bracket called?

On that Honda, that bracket is a part of the (rear)Camshaft bearing cap. You'll need to get a new bearing cap in order to fix this problem. Good thing is, they are easy to find in local salvage yards. You'll have to remove the valve cover to access it and be sure to replace the distributor O-ring seal.

Well, is this a difficult job? Is there anything I need to keep in mind like when I take the valve cover off?
Im thinking the distributor needs to come off first since its hanging by the bottom two brackets
