2001 Daewoo Lanos VALVES AND TIMING BELT
Engine Mechanical problem
2001 Daewoo Lanos 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 145000 miles
i AM WONDERING IF THE VALVES ARE BAD ON THIS SINCE THE TIMING BELT BROKE ON IT AND MY FRIEND KEPT TURNING IT OVER TOTRY AND GET IT STARTED OR ARE WE OK TO PUT A NEW BELT ON THE TIMING GEARS

CAUTION:This application is an interference engine. Do not rotate camshaft or crankshaft when timing belt is removed, or engine damage may occur.
I would suspect the valves are damaged .. but I have seen some engines with no damage at all !! you could try just the belt .. you have nothing to lose apart from time !

Ihave 2001 deawoo lanos ,I WAS TOLD MY TIMEING BEALT NEEDED TO BE CHANGEd. My car made a tapping sound as I was driveing . what can you suggest me to do?
