2007 Chrysler Town and Country ALTERNATOR WHINING
Noises problem
2007 Chrysler Town and Country 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 60000 miles
Town & Country Limited. The alternator has been replaced three times with aftermarket rebuilds. The fourth and current one is a new Mopar. This one also has a high pitch whine. (almost siren like) The work has been done at a certified repair shop. All other units on serpentine belt are quiet. The noise is variable in intensity, meaning sometimes quiet and more often really irritating. Any suggestions?

Are you in extreme temps? Also, have you had the draw on the alternator checked? If it is making that much noise, either there is a bad bearing in it or it is really working hard (maybe a short). Most parts stores will check it for you free of charge. Have it checked so we know if it has too much of a draw on it. Also, did the remanufactured ones do the same thing?
