2001 Chrysler Town and Country Fuel smell

Smells problem
2001 Chrysler Town and Country 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 121,00 miles

My vehicle check engine light came on recently and the car started to smell like gas but the car was giving the same gas mileage as before and it did not seem to be leaking from any of the gas lines. The smell came fron the front engine compartment. I was going to look into the fuel injectors but before I can even start I notice that the MAP sensor was broken. I replaced it with a new one and now the car does not smell of gas anymore, even though the check engine light is still on. Could the defective MAP Sensor been tha cause of the gas fumes or is it just coincidence?

It could have cause the engine to run too rich. As far as the light, have you had it reset?
