I have a 2001 chrysler sebring and the engine light came on. We hooked one of the machines up to it and it says ignition coil b. I thought the inition coils were numbered. What is ignition coil b?

Did it read ignition coil "B", or was it possibly ignition coil "6" (six)? If it is ignotion coill six, you will need a repair maual - this will give you the numbering sequence of the cylinders/ Each cylinder should have an indepedent ignition coil, aka "coil pack". Which are located at the top of each spark plug. Check for a bad connection at the coil pack of your number six cylinder. If connections are good, then you probably need to replace the coil pack -about $50.00/ stocked at most parts stores. Easy fix - disconect the electrical connector, remove the 2 small bolts at the top of the coil pack - remove and replace with new coil pack. Hope this helps.
