I have had my oil light come on in my Dodge 2002 Neon. I had a new timing belt, pulley put on, oil change and the light still keeps coming on when I first start the car. After 3 to 5 miles the light is still on and it blings. After seven blings the light goes off.
I have had new oil sensor put in and still the problem returns. I have had this vehicle to the repair shop six times. I still do not have an answer from the repair shop or the dealership. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is?

Could be low oil. Could be low oil pressure. Could be a bad connection to the sensor and the body control modual. Could be a bad connection from the body control to the guage cluster. All these are equally plausable. Sorry but thats the bestI can do hope it helps

The best way to finger this problem is to connect an oil pressure gauge and read off-okay then its time to investigate the oil light gauge.
