Hel ! My windshield wipers do not come on at all. I have changed the fuses, the switch and the wiper motor, but still nothing. They do not even attempt to come on. Could the new motor be bad, since I did get is used? Or is it something else?

Changed the fuse, motor switch? If it is a new motor a separate ground from the wiper motor housing to any secure ground to the frame will tell you the story. That was a weekly fix. Bad wiper motor ground.

I went ahead and ran a wire from the cover screw to the block and that did the trick. I was under the assumption that the motor was case grounded, but I guess this happens when the car gets old. I put the old motor and switch back on too. Saved a few bucks. Thanks alot for your help.

My windshield wipers just stopped working while in use. I can hear the motor to the wipers running they seem fine. Why will it not move the wipers back and forth. What can I do to fix this? I am stuck and I cannot afford to take it to a shop. Please tell me somethings I can try.

The linkage probably popped off the motor's arm. Line the ball and socket up, then squeeze them together with a pliers. If it pops off again, the nylon socket is worn out and the linkage must be replaced. Good used ones should be fairly easy to find in most salvage yards.

My wipers do not work. I have replaced the wiper motor and fuses twice and checked the current coming through the plug to the wiper motor and its putting out 12.4 volts when switch is turned on. I hear a click noise when I turn wiper switch on under dash. Any ideas why my wipers do not work? Also went to dealership and they said there is no relay for this car.

Were the fuses blown? Ground a test light to the battery negative post or engine block, then test for voltage on the case of the wiper motor. If you have voltage there, attach a new ground wire between the motor and the body.

It has just snowed and now my windshield wipers will not work. The blades are fine and free of ice. I also have a problem with the car battery draining if not driven after two days or so. What may be the problems?

Hey ksukev, as to the wiper issue, you may have simply blown the fuse for the wiper motor I would start there first. As to the battery drain, first check to make sure all interior lights a switched off, including the glove compartment and trunk lights, then unless you have a good DVOM and are familiar with "parasitic draw" testing I do not recommend it, but if you do then I would be happy to walk you through it!

Regards,

Chris
