Ok i own a 1976 Hillman(chrysler) Hunter. The car starts fine but after it has started the engine wants to stall and die. If i pull the choke out and put the accelerator to the floor i can usualy keep the engine alive but only just. After about a minute u can hear the car right itself and then it runs perfectly. by hear i mean the car is splutering and then runs smoothly. Any idea how to stop the car running so rough when i start it?

Hi:

If the choke is closing the entire way, the car will run bad. It nees to stay open about 1/8 to 1/4 if an inch. The auto choke may need adjusted.
