I have an 89 christler new yorker with a 3.0L engine and it has 90000 miles on it. I have an electrical problem. I have changed the trany already and it does the same thing. you can drive it for a day or two and it is fine and thin 1 or 6 times in a row it will shift into safe mode (second). turn the key off and back on and it will shift again. i have heard that there is a resistor that can cause this to happen?
