2000 Chrysler Neon Changing Spark Plugs

2000 Chrysler Neon 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 125000 miles
I took off the spark plug wire & boot; ...yhen I see a stailess steel tube going into the spark plug hole; ...neither of my spark plug sockets fit into this hole. Am I supposed to remove the tube, or find a special spark plug socket?
