my key wont turn in the ignition. Ive tried graphite powder and that didnt seem to have any affect. When I initially noticed the problem, I tried turning my steering wheel so now its locked up. I dont know if it is a tumbler inside the cylinder that is jammed or something more severe. Possibly do I need a new lock cylinder? What else should I look for as a potential problem? Any suggestions are much appreciated!

also - I might as well add that the remote start works and the car will still start, but obviously I need to turn the key in the ignition to go anywhere. But at least the car is capable of starting.

If you have tried lubericating it and a different key, then the tumbler must be bad. The bad part is to replace it you need to remove the steering wheel and part of the steering column.
