2000 Chrysler LHS Making noice while accelerating
Air Conditioning problem
2000 Chrysler LHS 6 cyl Automatic 40k miles
When I first turn the A/C to on I get a noise that lasts just a couple of seconds and then stops. Then, once I accelerate from a complete stop it makes a revving sound and the car doesn't accelerate easily. once I get up to speed there is no problem. This only happens when the A/C is on. Also, occasionally when I am at a stoplight I get a noise similar to the noise when I initially turn the A/C on, it lasts a couple seconds and stops. My air is blowing cold. I was told this could be the compressor and it is going to cost $800. Is it that the compressor is just dying slowly? because it is still blowing cold air fine. Or could it be something else?
