2004 Chrysler Crossfire Interior Lights not working properl

The car is a coupe and not a roadster. Near the rear view mirror is a switch which can be set to "no interior lights" or "interior lights come on when door is opened". The interior lighting which consists of three lamps, one in the rear hatch area and two near the rear view mirror. There are obvious switches on the body of the car for the driver and passenger doors but I can not locate a switch for the rear hatch. Anyway the interior lights are supposed to dim then go out after the doors are closed. However, when the switch is in the "door" position the lights stay on after the doors are closed and it never goes out unless it is switched to the off position.
