Hello, and thanks for your assistance. I have a 1991 fifth ave 3.3l 150k miles. I have just rebuilt my front end(ball joints, coil springs, struts, rack and pinion, tie rods, etc) and now on take off from a stop I get three thumps from the front end. To me, its indicitive of the CV axles and engine alignment. I have check the specs, and they claim that from the end of the inner boot closest to the intermediate shaft to the inner boot of the outer boot, there should be 7.4-7.7 inches. It now reads 8.5 inches exactly on both sides. Im not sure how adjusting the engine is going to help if they are currently approximatly equal distance.

The only help I can off is to double check the measuring points, Otherwise someone else will have to jump in. It must be measured from the bottom only.

Thanks again, Yes, those are my measuring points. Dont understand why im comming up 8.5 when the spec is 7.4 to 7.7 on each side. If my manual is correct. Could the three thump noise be this or something else?

Thanks,
Chris
