1988 Chrysler 5th Avenue spitting, sputtering&dying

Engine Performance problem
1988 Chrysler 5th Avenue V8 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 83923 miles

this car will spit & sputter going down the road or idling. Sometimes the engine will surge while driving down the road. It's been known to die while going down the road & when trying to leave from a stop sign or red light. We have replaced the fuel pump & filter. We have also replaced the fuel lines, spark plugs, dristribtor cap & rotar cap. Please help!
