2000 Chrysler 300 Motor Knocking Over Heats Turned Off Twice Ot Started Heat

driving it overheated is killing the motor. have it checked asap to see if you damaged the head gasket or more.

I have an overheating problem. On a 2000 300m Chrysler.
I replaced the water pump, new timing components, new thermostat (I have changed it 3 times). The fans are both working. There are no leaks. Good coolant circulation. I am afraid head gaskets are put wrong, how would i know?

What would make you say that? Did you just have head gaskets done?

Yea I was told the head gaskets were bad and the water pump. They were replaced and now my car is overheating. Is there a difference between the right and left head gaskets if they were put on the wrong side?

No, but there is certainly a lot more to do in that job than just toss gaskets on it. The heads needed to go out to a machine shop for testing.

Sorry for butting in but your comment on turning on the heater caught my attention. My old minivan acted like that years ago. Ran warm at anything over 60 mph, (when the higher air flow should have helped), and 60 degrees. It was caused by the cooling fins in the radiator being rotted away. Running the rear heater always brought the temperature down.

Also look for a butterfly collection blocking air flow through the radiator.

Turning the heater on merely added some additional cooling to a system that was already overloaded. I suspect there were other issues with the head that weren't resolved.

I HAVE A CHRYSLER 300M WE HAD TO REPLACE THE MOTOR A FEW MONTHS AGO BECAUSE IT OVER HEATED AND BLEW A HOLE IN THE BLOCK. WELL SINCE WE GOT IT BACK IT IS OVER HEATING. THE MECHANIC SAID IT MIGHT BE THE FREEZE PLUG IN THE BACK OF THE MOTOR. BUT MY HUSBAND THINKS IT MIGHT BE SOME LINE THAT GO TO THE RADIATOR THAT ARE FOR THE OIL PUMP I THINK IDK AT ANY RATE WE HAVE REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT TWICE. IT WAS DRIVEN 10 MILES TODAY AND OVER HEATED HELP PLEASE.

Have we checked if the radiator is clogged-up or the water pump is doing its job pushing coolant thru or airlock in the cooling system that needs bleeding???

my husband bleed the coolant on saturday because it over heated on us then as well it does it all the time. HELP

Get it block and pressure tested to find out if its a blown headgasket, cracked head or block.

the water is not circulating........how hard is it to change the water pump cuz its an internal water pump.......would it be the water pump with it not circulating............help

Not familiar with this vehicle and the short cut to R/R the water pump-if its not circulating that's the pump's job to move coolant thru out the engine.

Chrysler 300M is continuously overheating. I check all the fluids with no obvious leaks but continues to overheat. What can cause this?

Radiator fans not turning on due to defective relay, or defective fan motor. Leaking head gasket, blocked radiator, corroded cooling fins in radiator, sticking thermostat.

Hello

what need to be done when the above vehicle, shows no sign of obvious water leak, but the temp gauge shots up to the 95% hot mark after about 6 miles of driving, I stop to let it cool down, as I open the cap on the overflow bottle thats when the water come boiling out.
I then refil the rad, while sitting in the car waiting for it to cool down, a loud boiling sound can be heard coming from the overflow bottle. The car will not start until the temp gauge shows on the half way mark

I would start by replacing the thermostat and having the radiator and engine block flushed.
