Does the power door work when opening it with the handle? Those vans had a lot of trouble with the power sliding doors.

Yes. It's won't unlock or lock with the remote? We can unlock and lock the door by hand. It locks fine when you put the gear and they all lock. It's a mystery to me?

So if you unlock the door put it back in gear and do this several times will it lock again and again? If so it still wont lock with the switch or remote?A bad door lock actuator almost makes sense.

the vehicle chimes when put in gear. Press on brakes and it slows down but does not stop. All doors are closed and oil level is fine. What is it?

More than likely the sliding door contact pads and plungers are dirty, run a scotch brite pad over them and try it out

2006 Chevy Uplander Engine Size unknown All Wheel Drive Automatic 4400 miles

My passenger side sliding door will not shut all the way. It started when I had an object preventing the door to shut. I removed it and checked for other objects. Now the door will almost close, but it pulls back before it's closed. I can't drive to the dealership so that they could look at it because the car will not move with the door open. Any suggestions?

I WOULD TRY SHUTTING OFF THE AUTOMATIC DOOR SWITCH, THERE SHOULD BEA A SWITCH TO DISABLE THE AUTOMATIC PART. THEN TRY CLOSING THE DOOR. YOU CAN ALSO WITH THE DOOR OPEN PULL THE INSIDE DOOR RELEASE HANDLE AND AT THE REAR OF THE DOOR HAVE SOMEONE ELSE USE A SCREWDRIVER TO POP THE LATCH OPEN.

Thank you very much for your reply!
I ended up calling roadside assistance, and they towed my car to the dealership. It was fixed within five minutes. The bracket on the bottom was pushed in by about four inches.
I would've never found that problem.

My uplander has a automatic sliding rear door. The cable has disconnected and the safety chime will not shut off. The dealership where I bought it is not open for two days and I need to drive the car. I can get the door to open and close manually but the chime will not stop.

Try the initialization procedure, Replacement of the PSDM requires that the Power Sliding Door System be disabled by removing the PSD 15-amp fuse. Once the PSDM has been replaced and the fuse installed, the following initialization procedure must be performed for both sliding doors in the following order:

Manually close and latch the power sliding doors.
Perform two complete Open/Closed cycles for each sliding door using any one of the following devices:
"Â Appropriate switch mounted in the overhead console

"Â Appropriate switch mounted to the B pillar

"Â Remote Transmitter

"Â Special functions of the scan tool

With a scan tool, verify that the PSD Open/Closed Position Learned parameter displays "Yes".
Operate the power sliding door to verify completion of the procedure. If this dosent work post back, may need to be scanned for codes, or may be other problems.

On the "claw" that closes is a switch that tell the system the door is open or closed, try spraying it with WD-40 and open and close it a few times.

The door won't unlock from the inside or remote or switch. The child safety switch was not activated. Is there a fuse that might be blown? What am I missing? Should I remove the door panel?
The warranty expired 5/08.
Oh yeah. The remote won't activate the right rear sliding door but it will open and unlock the other doors.

Won't work from overhead console. Not sure where B-pillar switch is located. Seems like the locking mechanism is off track. Thanks for your help.

Was this issue ever resolved for you? I have the same model 2005 Uplander V6, with the same problem. The left automatic sliding door won't open by the handle (inside or outside), the fob, the headliner switch, or the "B" pillar switch.

It sounds as though a solenoid engages, but there is no motor noise whatsoever. We have not removed door trim yet, and have never set the child safety lock-out.

Nope, no one can give me a clear answer. We like our van and bought American for it's dependability. (?) Why won't GM/Chevrolet step up and take care of their customers, beyond the warranty. I hope you can find a resolution soon.

I bet your problem has to do with the handle itself. I have seen lots where the plastic bracket on the back of the outside handle separated so the lock gets jammed so it won't unlock or lock.
