CHEVY SILVERADO POWER DOOR LOCK PROBLEM
1994 Chevrolet Truck
I have a 94 K1500 X-Cab Silverado with a power door lock problem. The locks quit working, (first the passengers side, then the drivers side), so I replaced the actuators in the door, and everything was fine for about 2 months when I started noticing that they were failing to work again. I removed both of them and bench tested with 12V and one would not actuate at all, and the other was very " slow". I returned them to the dealer, and they replace them both at no charge. I put the 2 new ones in and again, in about 2 or 3 months, they stopped working. I found 2 other used working actuators, (new ones are a bit expensive) and the same result. They work fine for a couple of months, then fail. ANY IDEA'S? I can live with manual locks, but it would be nice to know what is causing the actuators to fail. It's been suggested that it might be the Keyless Entry Module, but when I bought the truck (used), I was never given a remote, or told about any keyless entry system. Any help would be appreciated. THANKS
