Transmission problem
1991 Chevy Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual
I was driving down the road in 5th gear and it came out of gear. Made a loud grinding noise. I coasted to the shoulder and put it in neutral. When I let out of the clutch, it made a loud grinding noise and died like it was still in gear. After that it would not go into any gear and I had to remove the driveshaft just to pull it up onto a trailer. Everything was in a bind and seemed locked up. I have removed the transmission. The clutch and pilot bearing are both shot. Any clues as to what could be wrong. Do I need to disassmble the transmission?
