Chevy low oil/rpm at idling
Engine Performance problem
1991 Chevy Truck 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 266000 miles
I have a 1991 Chevy 1500 2wd with the 4.3L V6. When the car starts it runs fine, but upon reaching normal operating temperature some issues arise. When the truck idles the oil pressure drops severely and idles rough and threatens to stall out. It gets even worse when you turn the wheels. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I haven't tried much cause i'm not really sure where to start?
Thanks

Start by checking the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge and testing the fuel pump and oil pressure sending unit.

Checking the oil pressure is easy, but how do I go about the fuel pump and the oil pressure sending unit? Would it have anything to do with a bad alternator or a battery starting to fail?
