I have a 1953 chevy 1 ton pickup (model 3800).

I am looking for a pair of spreader bars (struts?) For the parking brake, and also the part (pivot?) That attaches the cable to the drum.

Any ideas where I can find them? Have tried a couple of locations in Canada, and Jim Carter out of California with no luck.

Before the storm (Katrina) there used to be a salvage yard but it went under 30 feet of water and all the old vehicles are gone.

I wish I could remember the place around Sacramento. It was all old chevy parts.

If you can find the number. Call Eddie's Auto Parts in knoxvville, tennessee. I think it is on Walker Blvd.
He has a parts store and a scrap yard with tons of old cars and trucks. He is also on the parts hotline for other yards. Who knows you might get lucky. Also remember when you call he is a cranky old buzard so be nice. Vandragon
