spoke with a mechanic and the truck needs a new head gasket and radiator. The mechanic says its going to be $3600 to repair. Does this sound right? I guess most of the cost comes from labour, he was saying 30 man hours. Can you help me out, can it be done any cheaper? Some how!

Actually that price is pretty close. Headgasket on 4.2L pays 24.0hrs and 5.3L pays 15.0hrs. Radiator pays 3.5hrs. Plus price for parts.I hate to say it but the price is pretty close. As far as it being cheaper you can shop around an see if someone can do it cheaper.
