Is There a PCV Valve, where is the location?

It is in the valve cover, there is no PCV valve just a feed hose, here is a diagram to show you. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed. The valve cover acts as the PCV.

After starting very rough I noticed that the hose connecting the PCV valve to the carburetor was damaged so I replaced both the valve and the hose. When the new hose is connected the engine dies, when just the valve is in place with no hose the engine runs high but it runs OK.

I'm guessing this is a symptom of a larger problem.
The car is presently working but gas milage is horrible with that much air in the system.
Needles to say I need to figure this out.

Put the old pcv valve back in and see if it acts the same and get back to us
