So I had an oil change in June (103000 miles) its now august and im almost close to 108000. Well I noticed the other day after driving on the highway when I came to a stop in the parking lot my car was smoking under the hood. My boyfriend opened up the hood and said it looked like it was coming from the oil filters. Well when I got my oil changed that was supposed to be done. So I looked at my receipt and the sticker for when my oil change is due and it said at 187489 miles. Which is WAY off. I looked at my receipt and they had that there was 184956 miles on my car when I came in which is wrong since I have only close to 108000 now. So therefore im due for an oil change. I was wondering if that could be a reason why my car was smoking, because im over the mileage. I checked the oil in my car and there was little to none in there. Then today my boyfriend drove the car and it started smoking again after being driven on the highway, he pulled into the gas station to put oil in there until I get my oil changed and they mentioned me not having oil, is the reason why it was smoking.

Thanks

Hi yes the reason it is smoking most likely is oil running on a hot engine. DANGER this is a very dangerous prob. You see the oil can ignite under the hood. You see a whole row of burned out cars in the scrap yard. This is where they come from be careful and get your oil changed soon
