CHEVY SPEEDOMETER CABLE

1998 Chevrolet Tracker

Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Chevy Tracker 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 140000 miles

I am replacing just the internal cable and not the entire line, so I am feeding the new cable through the existing external housing. I can get it almost to the end, but still have about 5 inches to go. I've tried everything and I wonder if you have a tip. I've even tried hooking up the last 5 inches to my cordless drill and hoping the it will turn enough to make it up the last 5 inches!

I have not removed the instrument cluster, because I cannot figure it out without having to remove the steering wheel. I don't have the proper tools for that.
