Car was warming up when I went outside and opened the door. The car just died. Lights still came on but no gauges. Tried to start and nothing not even a crank or a clicking noise that you get from a bad starter. Check the fuses and a 40a from the ignition had blown. I replaced and it blew right away. Help! I'm stranded in Northern Canada with no mechanic until the new year.

You have a short somewhere. Look at, and follow back, all the wires that connect to your starter. Especialy the larger wires that lead from your starter silinoid. Do you have a continuity tester?
