2004 Chevy Silverado Drivers side door hinge spring

2004 Chevy Silverado Four Wheel Drive Automatic 12000 miles
How do you replace the spring that holds the hinge? I am able to open the door and close it but it snaps twice when opening it or closing it. I was told that the door spring was broke. Is there any print out of the door inside that I could get. I have electric windows and side mirrors etc. in this door.
