I have a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 with a 5.3 liter v8. My problem is it is hard starting and once it does fire it idles very rough until you give it some gas. And when you roll to a stop and it goes down to idle it almost dies.
The strange thing is that it starts easy if it sits more than 5 hours, and it will fire quickly if you shut it off and start it back up. But if you drive it and shut it off and it sits more than 10 minutes its very hard starting, and when it does fire the rpm flickers from 500 rpm to zero.
The truck has a new fuel filter, new air filter new spark plugs and wires, and has a new fuel pump but still does not work right. If your not idling or trying to start it, it runs great.
