The serpentine belt came off while I was driving on the highway. The belt tensioner went bad. I had to drive a couple of miles before I could exit and stop the engine. The temp gauge went right up to the red line. I haven't replaced the tensioner yet. Is there any chance the engine was damaged due to running hot?
