1996 Chevy Silverado random misfire code 300

Random misfire code 300. Sometimes it runs fine and others it runs on about 6 cylinders,and "pings" under hard accelleration.I've replaced plugs,wires,cap,and rotor with no change.Any ideas. Thanks
