02 Silverado, random cylinder misfire code

2002 Chevy Silverado, Automatic,
My truck, during cold weather only, gives me a cylinder misfire code. When I first start my truck it will rev high and then the rpms will drop, then it will begin surging. Sometimes the rpms will drop too low and the engine will turn off. After it idles for a while the surging is not so bad. But when I put it into to drive it will slowly accelerate on its own. After the truck has been running/driven the engine will stop surging and the “check engine” light turns off. Again, this only happens in cold weather. I have replaced the spark plugs and wires. And the fuel pump is new.

check the intake manifold gaskets for a leak when cold. You can do this by spraying carb cleaner around the gaskets with the engine running. If it boggs down when you spray an area, you have a leak.
