TRUCK JUST SHUTS OFF

I have a 98 Chevy S10 2.2L 4cy. Manual 5 speed with 100k. Brand new motor just placed less than 5K. My truck just shuts off, no warning, no engine lights come on, nothing. I could be driving, or sitting, acts like it loses fuel. I noticed a humming or buzzing noise coming from behind the cab on drivers side right under the bed. There is a metal plate covering where this noise is coming from. I was stopped in traffic, this noise stopped, RPM's dropped down to about 200, then truck stalled as I tied to take off. What do you think? Thanks for any help.

Sounds like your fuel pump is going out on you. Not uncommon for GM's around that mileage
