i have a 97 s10 extended cab, automatic transmission, 4x4 with around 100,000 miles on it.
I had the same problem with transmission fluid coming out of the vent tube, when it was hot, my tube runs up along side of the dipstick/fill tube. I was only guessing, but I figured that the transmission filter was blocked up and building up pressure. I changed the filter and it has not happened since, and it has been hot.
