Fuel delivery problem

1995 S-10 zr2, 4.3 litre cpi motor. Went to start it leaving work yesterday, it ran about 30 seconds, then died as though I had turned the key off, and now it wil not start back up. I replaced the fuel filter, and today I take the line off the filter and turned the key on, of course gas went every where, so the pump is providing enough pressure to where it at least ought to sputter, but it just cranks and cranks without catching. Help?

edit: it is getting spark, we checked that.
