When I start the truck all it will do is crank and it wont start. I've checked the basic stuff that you would, any idea what is wrong with it?

I am assuming you have a 4.3L v6,
Remove the fuse box cover and check your fuel pump fuse. If ok, maybe buy a new relay that goes in that area. If neither are bad then get a plug wire tester, connect it and crank the engine over with an assistant and see if you have spark. No spark leads back to the distributor. Check the coil wire going from the cap to the coil. Not sure what the omh value is atop of my head. Just check to ensure it is properly seated. If so, pop the cap off and check for corrosion build up on the cap terminals and on the rotor. If all looks well from there it might be the distibutor itself or on back to the ecm.
Check all the fuses for that matter.
