Truck will start with no problems for weeks at a time. Then, out of nowhere, the engine will crank as it should on start up but when it should idle, nothing happens, it just stalls. The weather (moisture, extreme heat or cold) does not seem to make a difference at all as it happens all year round. I can go all day long, driving around, stop at a store, get back in the truck after 2 minutes and it won't start. Usually after 5 - 30 minutes it will start again, then run fine. The longest non running period was 3 days. What is going on?

Welcome to the forum. When the problem occurs, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. Spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. If you have the spider fuel system, there is intermittent problem with the fuel poppets sticking. The best cleaning procedure is a shop procedure, if the poppets are the problem?
