My '96 chevy s10 isn't starting and I think it's something wrong in the fuel system. I turn the key and the starter cranks away like normal but the engine never fires. I've already changed the fuel filter and added injector cleaner to it. My friends and I think it could be the fuel pump. If that's the case is that something an amatuer like myself can do or should I not mess with it and take it into a professional?

Hello, if you think it is a fuel problem, don't do anything without using a fuel pressure gage. The last time I looked, a fuel pressure gage at the discount autostore is still cheaper than a fuel pump. It may be the fuel pump, but, I hate to guess.

With the engine cranking, is there spark at the plugs and injector pulse?
