Chevy clutch problem
Transmission problem
1995 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual
I just purchased a 95 s10 the clutch engages at about one to two inches up from the floor. So I changed the slave and the master cylinder bled the system according to the instructions and nothing changed. Both peices are plastic and the line is the pop on and insert a roll pin. There is not a bleeder on either cylinder. It is very hard to get in and out of gear. I dont know if the clutch and the associated parts have ever been changed. The drive train is excessivly noisy when it is moving. I am leaning towards the throw out bearing being bad. the truck has 150 thou miles on it.

There should be a bleeder valve on the clutch release cylinder located under the truck. With 150,000 miles there is a possibility that the clutch pressure plate is getting weak. Start with checking the drive shaft for any give. check the universal joints starting from the back of the vehicle working forward. Check where the driveshaft goes into the transmission to see if there is any play. If everththing feels ok the you might have to pull the transmission to check the clutch. If you have to do that remember to check the pilot bearing.
