A friend was driving my S10 and called me to tell me the engine just stopped. I pulled it home and tried to start it again. It made no effort of turning over at all. It seems like there is no electrical power going to the vehicle at all. I just replaced the battery less than a year ago..Can you help me out?..Is it a possible alternator?..Or just replace the battery..

Could be many things. First thing is to put a volt meter on the battery and see what you have. If you have 12-13 volts, check the battery cables on both ends for corrosion, and broken ends. Check for power at the battery terminal on the back of the alternator and at the rear of the starter. Check the fusible links for damage. Check the ifnition switch and wiring. That should get you closer.
