Hard to start my 1988 Chevy S-10 Pickup 2.8L throttle body

My truck does start but the longer you let it sit the more I have to crank it to start it, at 30 seconds after turning off the engine it will almost start right back up, a couple minutes after turning it off it take about 2 long cranks to start and the engine, and the longer it sits the worse it becomes. Once the truck is started it runs smooth and doesnt miss seems to run perfectly fine in every way except for starting.

It sounds like the fuel pressure is dropping off. Have you checked fuel pump pressure?

On cold mornings below freezing it will take upward of 10 cranks befor actually starts. It sputters up like its starting then I release the key and doesn't start. It does this a bunch of times befor it starts. It's iratating please help. I got a new fuel pump, filter, distributor cap, rotor, wires, and plugs. It sent me a code 32 which is erg valve so I took it off and made a plate and blocked it off.

Check fuel pressure with a gauge, should be 9-11 psi auto parts rent them. Then check dist shaft for wear and for a sticky tps

Hi, we rebuilt this engine and it is really hard to start. We have to push the gas pedal to the floor and hold it and just continue to keep cranking. Eventually it will start after it spudders and backfires and then it will start. Even then it sounds like its not getting any gas

First thing to do is cross A & B on the aldl and turn tehkey on and get the codes. You count the flashes then come back to the site and seewhat it brings up if anything. Then replace your fuel filter and fuel pressure. If you have disconnected any wires check them alll again to make sure they are connected. Also check the vacuum line going to the MAP sensor on the firewall. That could be bad or disconnected.
