1998 Chevy Prizm 4 cyl Automatic 143000 miles

Hi Guys,

This morning I used the car and everything was working fine; however, around 7:00 pm my wife ask me why my tail light are on. I went outside and check to my suprise the lights were on. I did everyhing to turn them off nothing seem to be working. as a result of staying on for that long it drained my battery and I could not even get the car started with a jump start. Please, could you guys tell why the tail lights are not working properly.
