1995 Other Chevrolet Models Low pressure valve

Air Conditioning problem
1995 Other Chevrolet Models 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 85,000 miles

My dad has a Chevrolet 1500, 1995, and was trying to charge the freon himself. He thinks he only found the high pressure valve and not the low pressure. Could u please explain where this would be located and also is it the old freon or the new kind(134). Some of my selections about truck info may not be correct bc he isn't with me at the moment. Thanks for your help!

If it's threaded nipple's on the line it's r-12 and will have to be converted to r-134.If it's smooth nipple's on the line's then it's r-134 which it should be that year. The low side is the smaller of the two and the charging hose that fit's on the small can's will only fit the low side nipple.
