Engine Performance problem
1974 Chevy Nova V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I just put a brand new engine into my nova with a brand new gear reduction starter but when I turn the key there is no click at all, nothing happens. Battery is charged, when I touched the starter with a wrench I almost fried.
