Recently purchused 74 Nova. Runs like a champ, but doesn't want to idle. When stopped, I have to keep my foot lightly on gas peddle to keep it running. Any ideas on the problem?

if it runs well, then take a vacuum gugae and adjust your carburetor, including idle speed. As you just bought this car it might have a built up motor and was turned down. so it might have to idle at a higher rate. Try 900 rpm in nuetral then go fom there. If it has to idle faster then take it to a pro so he can look at it.
