Engine Performance problem
1998 Chevy Metro 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 170000 miles
I have a Chevy Metro 4 cylander 1998, and I keep having to buy spark plug wires, they keep going out. What happens is Ill change them and my car will work fine for a while. Then after a while, when I take off my car will be all boggy and will make putting noises like its trying to fire, then will kick in and take off fine. They progressively get worse and it takes longer for my car to take off right. Ive went through 3 pairs in the last 1.5 years...what do you think is up with my car?

wires don't just go bad in that short amount of time.
are you leaking anything on them. antifreeze will kill wires pretty fast.
