I have a problem, the problem is that i am getting oil into my 1 & 2 pistons but the third and fourth are fine. I looked down the spark plug whole for both the first and second pistons and the # 1 piston looks like its brand new while the second piston looks like its been through hell and back. i have been told by mechanics that its the head gasket, and in-order to do the job that they have to take off harmonic balancer in-order to take off the timing cover, the timing chain and the cam sprockets. Is that true and will that mess up the timing?

yes the timing chain and gears have to come off to replace the head gasket. If they do this they can also check if the timing chain and any of it's components are worn and need replacing as well....
