CHEVY IGNITION CONTROL MODULE/SWITCH

1998 Chevrolet Lumina

Engine Cooling problem
1998 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 205000 miles

I have a new ignition switch module however you want to call it for my 98 lumina 3.1. It runs great but if you sit idle too long it will overheat & stall. You then have to let it cool off for about 15 minutes or so & get moving quick. As long as it is moving there is no problem. I was told the ignition module needs to be replaced. Where is it located? It is a flat part a little larger than a checkbook size not the actual key/switch. Is this easy to replace? I would prefer to do so myself & not pay the repairman an arm and a leg to do something if it is simple enough for me to do.
