1996 Chevy Lumina Bad Intake Gasket

1996 Chevy Lumina 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 195000 miles
Can a bad intake gasket cause EGR code/problems? I have replaced EGR valve (with another used one that I cleaned from junkyard), have cleaned inside intake. I am pretty sure my intake manifold gasket needs replacing, could this cause problems with my EGR? I am getting terrible gas mileage.

no it shouldnt affect issue with the EGR if the intake gasket is bad.
what problems is it telling you with egr? EGR shouldnt cause gas mileage issues. give me all the codes you have.
