I have a newly rebuilt engine, with less than 100 miles on it, new radiator, new cooling fan censor, new thermostadt but the car still seems to run hot. The needle gets to the 3\4 mark when I sit in traffic. Anyone have any suggestions?

You may need a cooling system flush. Also you may needed to have the water pump checked out.

It is also caused by the engine running too rich, try smelling the exhaust if it smells like rotten eggs then it is running rich.

Also bad ignition timing could cause this.

Does the fan kick in? If the relay in the power distribution center is good, and the ECT is good, check the PCM power and ground circuits. Run wires from the battery to the fan to see if it is OK.
