I am having the same problem on my '04 Impala. It will shift like this for a day or so and then be fine for a few weeks.

I would like to know why it does this too.

i finally found out the problem with my trans on my 04 impala take it to the shop and have them to put in a new EPC in the trans and if you do not know what EPC stands for it stands for Electronic Pressure Control it has to do with the trans shifting once you get that put in your trans will shift like it is suppose to hope this will help you it did me and now my trans is working great

Hello,

This is an older post so we are not sure what it will cost, can you please let us know when you have it done?
